NOBEL LAUREATE LECTURE AT UNIVERSITAS PRASETIYA MULYA

As a university with excellent learning method for business and applied-technology enhancement, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya is honoured to present our partnership with The International Peace Foundation. As part of the International Peace Foundation’s 6th ASEAN event series titled “Bridges – Dialogue Towards a Culture of Peace”, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya will host an esteemed Nobel Laureate in early 2017.

The 6th ASEAN series of “Bridges” follows the “Bridges” series which the International Peace Foundation has continuously hosted in Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam and Singapore since 2003.  Starting in January 2017 “Bridges” will also be held in Indonesia, the Phillipines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam until March 2017 involving the participation of  Nobel Laureates for Peace, Physics, Chemistry, Medicine and Economics. A total of 48 Nobel Laureates and 20 keynote speakers and artists participated in those events.

In Indonesia, the “Bridges” events will be held at several universities including Universitas Prasetiya Mulya on 25 January 2017.  The keynote speaker scheduled to deliver the speech at Universitas Prasetiya Mulya in January 2017 is HE Jose Manuel Barroso -- the 11th President of The European Commission, who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2012 on behalf of the European Union which was awarded the prize for its contribution to the advancement of peace and reconciliation, democracy and human rights in Europe for over six decades. Mr. Barroso will speak on the matter of national to regional and global governance.

With this cooperation, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya hopes that the events could influence Indonesia’s young generation to think globally, and may this partnership lead to a better cooperation for the advancement of peace, freedom and security with the active involvement of the young generation, ASEAN’s key to the future.
