Padahal, lapangan pekerjaannya beragam dan terbuka lebar, <em>lho.<\/em> Sama halnya seperti profesi koki. Dalam benak masyarakat umum, seorang koki memiliki ruang kerja di dapur dan ia selalu siap memasak sesuai pesanan para <em>customer. <\/em>Namun kenyataannya, ada banyak perusahaan lain yang dapat ia rambah selain restoran.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Koki dengan Ribuan Restoran<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Gungun Chandra Handayana merupakan salah satu bukti bahwa lulusan Tata Boga tidak melulu harus menggunakan topi putih. Saat ditanya profesinya, ia menjawab dengan mantap: koki. Lalu, pada pertanyaan jumlah restoran yang ia miliki, ia jawab: ribuan di seluruh Nusantara. Bagaimana bisa? Mendapatkan tawaran untuk bekerja di Unilever, ia sempat enggan karena beranggapan akan terjun ke perusahaan <em>non-food. <\/em>Keberadaan divisi <em>Food Solutions <\/em>yang bekerja langsung dengan <em>brand <\/em>ternama seperti Bango, Lipton, Knorr, Buavita, dan Blue Band mengubah pandangannya. Sekarang, setelah hampir 12 tahun, Gungun sebagai <em>technical chef<\/em> juga melayani restoran di seluruh penjuru Indonesia untuk bantu memberikan konsultasi dan inovasi terhadap menu atau karyawan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Banyak Bidang yang Bisa Diterjang<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Selain menciptakan resep yang dapat dipahami masyarakat, pekerjaan Gungun juga melibatkan <em>sales <\/em>dan <em>marketing<\/em> karena ia pun harus bisa menentukan produk yang sesuai dengan keinginan pasar. Karena itu ia sadar bahwa menjadi seorang <em>chef <\/em>bukan bekerja di dapur saja.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAda banyak sekali kesempatan kerja jika kamu fokus di <em>food and beverage<\/em>,\u201d Gungun menjanjikan. Begitu juga <strong><em>International Chain<\/em> Account <\/strong>dan <strong><em>Local Chain Account<\/em> <\/strong>yang fokus pada ekspansi. Perusahaan <strong>Modern Kitchen Equipment<\/strong> pun memerlukan <em>technical chef <\/em>untuk menunjukkan kemampuan produk dalam menghasilkan makanan berkualitas. Terakhir, sesuai dengan divisi sang pembicara sendiri adalah<strong> Food Principal Company<\/strong> yang bekerja langsung dengan <em>brand <\/em>dan <em>customer. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Prasmul dan Jurusan Hospitality Business<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lulus di akhir tahun 90an, Gungun mengaku bahwa saat berkuliah, ia diarahkan untuk menjadi seorang profesional. \u201cSaya pikir pilihan memang hanya di hotel atau restoran. Angkatan ke-2 akan menjalankan perkuliahan di bulan Agustus 2018 mendatang.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Setelah bergabung di Unilever, ia sadar bahwa lapangan pekerjaan masih terbuka lebar, terutama di industri <em>Travel &amp; Tourism <\/em>yang merupakan sumber pemasukan negara yang paling utama. Keyakinan ini kembali diteguhkan ketika ia melihat kawan-kawannya berbisnis restoran atau hotel tanpa latar belakang <em>hospitality. <\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Mengetahui ada program <em>hospitality business<\/em> di Prasetiya Mulya, jujur saya sangat iri. Rasanya ingin bersekolah lagi.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>\u201c<\/em>Saya memang seorang <em>chef. <\/em>Tapi akan sulit bagi saya untuk membuka bisnis restoran karena saya tidak memiliki <em>basic <\/em>bisnis,\u201d Gungun menyampaikan. \u201cMaka dari itu, melihat jurusan <em>Hospitality Business <\/em>dari Prasmul membuat bangga. Karena mahasiswa tidak hanya dibentuk jadi seorang profesional, tapi juga seorang wirausahawan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ternyata, hotel dan restoran bukan menjadi dua tujuan utama lulusan <em>Hospitality.\u00a0<\/em>Baik dari sudut pandang seorang koki di sektor F&amp;B, maupun di sektor akomodasi dan <em>travel, <\/em>pekerjaan untuk lulusan <em>Hospitality<\/em> tidak sesempit yang semula dikira. Terutama dengan program Hospitality Business Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, para mahasiswa turut dimotivasi untuk membuka lapangan kerjanya sendiri.
